BEER PONG ONE OFFICIAL RULES
standard rules that go for all variations below.
To host official Beer Pong One events, you must have
the following
* A venue that allows beer pong. (official events can not be ran out of your house)
* Beer Pong One is a supporter of all the major brands of beer pong equipment, so any balls, cups, or tables by any of these brands will be fine.
* You must be 21 or over to compete, unless you are at a non alch. event that is 18 and up
* For safety reasons we leave drinking out of the cups
up to the bar/event host/player/team. as follows
*Water cups- We recently looked up the dangers of drinking
out of the game cups and DO NOT recommend that anyone does this.
We are promoting to the bars to give game beers/pitchers to drink
as people make the water cups. This came about when I personally
got sick from playing beer pong a few months ago. Had the worst cough/cold
I have had in a very long time so we personally advise, and our default
rule is this rule.
*Personal cups- This is our secondary default rule. Every
player/team has their own game cups they use for each game. This
is a little safer, but is still dangerous since as much as you want
to believe it, The water cup does not clean bacteria, and virus's
off the ball.
*Old School- Set up your rack, pour the beer on the cup,
drink cups as other team makes them, just make sure you read this
article first. http://cbs.sportsline.com/spin/story/9981066/1
All games have redemption ONLY if the loser have 3 cups
or less on the table. Only variation is for main events where there
will be qualifing matches, and them will have overtime in quarter
finals, semi's and on (reason is because larger events will have
larger numbers of teams, and we need to keep the event flowing)
Game Play Set up.
Singles- All singles will need the cups needed for their
match (6,10) filled with water, or if a die hard player/team and
don't worry about virus's and bacteria can be filled with beer.
Doubles- Same as singles set up
Game start up
Singles- Players can flip a coin or rock, paper, scissors
to see who goes first. The winner of the toss or rock, paper sissors
starts the game with a bonus shot. If the player makes the shot,
the defending team pulls the cup from the rack, then defending player
starts the game with the first two throws.
Doubles- Teams meet at the center of the table where
the team captain of one of the teams flips a coin and the other team
captain calls it. Winning team starts games with a freebee bonus
shot. If they make the shot that defending team pulls the cup, the
defending team starts the game with the first two throws.
Re Racks.
6 cup - re racks at 3, and when on last cup center cup
1-2 inches off the edge of the back center of the table.
10 cup- re racks at 6, 3, and when on last cup center
cup 1-2 inches off the edge of the back center of the table.
Re racks are to be done in original set up form. So no
squares, lines, or anything other than default set up shape.
Things that are not allowed!!!
No Blowing ball out of the cup. (if ball goes in but
is spinning around the rim before it hits the beer its in)
No Fingering ball out of the cup. (if ball goes in but
is spinning around the rim before it hits the beer its in)
No leaning against the table. You can lean all you want
as long as your body does not touch or move the table in the process
of your throw. If your body touches or moves the table as you throw
you will be warned the first time, and second time it will cost you
a cup per time called on it. (Don't cry that 1 inch you have to step
back will not kill you stretch)
No swatting bounce because bounce only counts as one
cup. Swatting only allowed if someone throws or bounces the ball,
it hits the rim of the cup and goes up in the air above the cup to
where it is going to fall straight back down in to that or another
one of your cups. That is the only time your allowed to swat the
ball.
No covering the cups when doing distractions. You can
distract all you want, but keep it behind the table. If you knock
over one of your own cups while distracting, that cup is gone.
IMPORTANT NOTE.... If its the other teams turn, and you
throw them the ball because it rolled back after your throw or what
not, and the person goes to catch the ball and as result dropped
it in the cup, or knocked over one his/her own cups prior to throwing,
THAT CUP GETS REFILLED, and does not count as a lost cup. Also if
player is getting ready to throw and ball slipped out of his fingers
in cup, that does not count as a lost cup either.
If player throws the ball and it bounces off of the other
player/ team and in to the cup that does count as a cup made.
